Trump administration border czar Tom Homan said Tuesday that border encounters for March hit a record low.

The total of 7,181 border encounters was the lowest Homan said he could remember in four decades, far below the 11,000-plus encounters during the same time under the Biden administration.

“President Trump’s leadership continues to break records! Border Patrol encounters for the month of March was 7,181 total. I started as a Border Patrol Agent in 1984, which was 41 years ago. I cannot recall a single month since then that the numbers have been that low. It is a far cry from the more than 11,000 a day that we saw for a time period under Biden,” he wrote on X.

“The men and women of the Border Patrol have proven what they can accomplish when they are allowed to do their job and complete the mission of their agency. The last administration had the Border Patrol releasing millions of illegal aliens into the United States, which caused more and more to come. Thanks to President Trump and his game changing policies, those days are over. Thank you to the patriots of the Border Patrol who are making this country safe again!” he added.

The news also comes as Immigration and Customs Enforcement has deported over 100,000 illegal immigrants since Trump’s return to the White House in January, according to The New York Post.

The ICE actions include over 113,000 arrests since Jan. 20, the exclusive report noted.

“Illegal entries into the United States are no longer a backdoor way to getting status,” a source told the outlet, with just 7,000 illegal crossings at the southern border in March.

The president’s border policies have led to a historic drop in the number of getaways recorded, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection source last month.

From Feb. 20 to March 12, the daily average was only 77 gotaways, Fox News reported, with a total number of 5,889.

“Border Patrol’s nationwide recorded gotaways have plummeted to a stunningly low daily average of just 77 over the last 21 days, according to internal CBP data we’ve reviewed. President Biden averaged 1,837 gotaways per day in the fiscal year 2023 at the height of the crisis, totaling 670,674 for the year,” Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin posted to X on Thursday.
