President Donald Trump met with New York City firefighters during a visit to the city to remember the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks.

A video from Trump campaign Deputy Director of Communications Margo Martin showed the 45th president interacting with NYFD members and children on Wednesday.

“President Trump, make America great again!” one child said while shaking Trump’s hand.

Martin identified the location as FDNY Engine 4/Tower Ladder 15. The firehouse lost 14 members during the 9/11 attacks.

Trump and running mate JD Vance were joined by campaign staff, Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and Laura Loomer.

Another post showed Trump interacting with the firefighters outside the fire station on Wednesday morning.

The visit was part of Trump’s visits to pay his respects to the victims of the 9/11 attacks with stops in New York City and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

As RSBN previously reported, 9/11 commemorates the events of Sept. 11, 2001, when nearly 3,000 people died from the attacks by terrorists who hijacked four commercial airplanes in coordinated attacks. The sites included the two towers at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, in America’s most deadly terrorist attack.

The deaths included over 400 first responders. Among them were 23 New York City police officers, 37 Port Authority workers and 343 New York City firefighters.

The attacks were led by al Qaeda under the leadership of Osama bin Laden. The American response included military operations in Afghanistan with an ongoing presence until 2021.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris also attended 9/11 memorial events in New York and Pennsylvania on Wednesday.

Presidential candidates traditionally pause from campaigning on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
