A video including recordings of several 911 calls made during President Donald Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania, rally was released on Wednesday.
The Intercept posted the 10-minute montage of calls in an online video after a lawsuit from the outlet and other news organizations.
“Gunshot at the Trump rally,” one caller stated, as the 911 line was active within one minute of the shooting at Butler Family Farms on July 13.
“We are at the Trump assembly, and there’s a guy shooting. He’s been shooting up the place,” another woman’s voice said in the recording.
The controversial assassination attempt included approximately eight shots fired from a nearby rooftop by 20-year-old Thomas Crooks before he was shot by a sniper.
The police were reportedly informed about the suspect 25 minutes before gunshots were fired, according to ABC News.
The shooting led to the death of Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter. Two other men were seriously wounded, David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74.
Trump was immediately tackled to the ground by Secret Service agents when shots rang out. He soon stood up, shouting, “Fight! Fight! Fight!” and becoming the viral moment of the day.
The Secret Service has been strongly criticized over security lapses related to the shooting. Now-former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle soon resigned over the issue.
Trump faced a second assassination attempt at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, in September. Agents fired at the suspect, who fled and was later arrested by local law enforcement.
The 45th president returned to Butler on Oct. 5 at the same location as the shooting. An estimated crowd of over 100,000 was on hand to mark the occasion, including running mate JD Vance and a host of political leaders and celebrities.
In addition to the 911 calls, body camera footage from Butler police was released earlier. The footage showed police officers upset over the failure of the Secret Service to secure the rooftop where Thomas was located.
“I f***ing told [the Secret Service] they need to post the guys f***ing over here,” one officer was recorded saying in a video.
