President Donald Trump’s likeness may soon grace the shiny face of a $1 coin, according to a new report suggesting that the U.S. Treasury is considering minting a special edition currency as the nation looks toward celebrating a milestone birthday in 2026.

According to Fox Business, the Treasury Department is looking at a plan to mint brand new $1 coins as part of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States of America, rapidly approaching next summer.

“Despite the radical left’s forced shutdown of our government, the facts are clear: Under the historic leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our nation is entering its 250th anniversary stronger, more prosperous, and better than ever,” an unidentified U.S. Treasury spokesperson told the outlet.

According to images obtained by Fox, the coin being considered includes an image of President Trump holding his fist in the air. Behind him, an American flag is visible, along with the words, “FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!”

That phrase was famously made popular by the president after he survived an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, during his third presidential campaign.

According to the statement shared with the outlet, a final design for such a coin has not yet been selected. “We look forward to sharing more soon,” the U.S. Treasury statement said.

During Friday’s White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she wasn’t sure if the president had seen the report regarding a potential $1 coin bearing his likeness.

“I’m not sure if he’s seen it, but I’m sure he’ll love it!” she remarked.

According to Fox, the most recent commemorative coin issued in the United States was a special edition Harriet Tubman coin, with sales exceeding 56,000.
