Businessman Elon Musk defended President Trump on Saturday following a series of misleading articles from various mainstream outlets insinuating that the 45th president suggested that a “bloodbath” would ensue if he were to lose the presidential election.

Musk slammed the articles as “lies” in a post to his X account, suggesting that the “legacy media” took the president’s words out of context.

The businessman then posted RSBN footage of the 45th president’s rally in Ohio.

President Trump discussed how a “bloodbath” in the auto industry would occur if he were not reelected because companies are outsourcing American manufacturing jobs to countries like Mexico and China.

“Mexico has taken over a period of thirty years 34 percent of the automobile manufacturing business in our country,” the president told rally goers in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday.

Addressing China’s President Xi Jinping, Trump accused the country of building auto manufacturing plants in Mexico and then selling those cars in the United States “with no tax on the border.”

Trump announced that he would not allow this if reelected and that he would impose a “100 percent tariff” on the cars if China were to continue this policy.

“We’re going to put a 100 percent tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected,” Trump told rally goers.

Immediately following this comment, Trump said, “Now if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole— that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories.”

President Trump clearly predicted that this “bloodbath,” a word that the media grossly exaggerated, would be a result of Joe Biden’s failure to stop the outsourcing of auto manufacturing jobs to China and Mexico.

However, the mainstream media continued to write misleading stories about the president, predicting violence if he were to lose the election.

As of Sunday, NBC News’ headline misleadingly stated, “Trump says there will be a ‘bloodbath’ if he loses the election,” and Rolling Stone’s headline read, “Trump Says There Will Be a ‘Bloodbath’ and Elections Will End if He Isn’t Reelected.”

Additionally, The New York Times wrote the headline, “Trump Says Some Migrants Are ‘Not People’ and Predicts a ‘Blood Bath’ if He Loses.”

According to video footage from the rally, however, Trump was referring to members of the violent gang MS-13 as not being people, contrary to The Times’ insinuation that the president was simply being racist towards migrants.

These blatantly false reports prompted many conservatives, and even political centrists like Musk, to quickly call foul on the mainstream media for writing baseless smear articles for the sake of hurting Trump.

Musk reacted specifically to the article from NBC News, calling the headline “deceptive.”

“Shame on NBC,” Musk wrote in a post to X.

The X Community Notes added further context to the NBC article in particular, writing that Trump was “discussing the Automobile industry,” and referred to it as “a bloodbath if he were to not be re-elected.”

In another post to X, Musk said it was “Easy to tell who is an NPC today” and attached a meme featuring a group of gray cartoon characters simultaneously saying “bloodbath.”

According to the New York Times, an “NPC” is defined as a “nonplayable character” in video games that cannot think for themselves and are often very scripted.

In a separate post, Musk encouraged users to share links from the platform to friends who were “still being misled by the legacy media.”

Nevertheless, many Democrats—including Joe Biden—were quick to pounce on the story, eager to smear the prospective Republican presidential nominee.

“It’s clear this guy wants another January 6,” Biden’s X account had posted Sunday. “But the American people are going to give him another resounding electoral defeat this November.”

Adding even more fuel to the hoax, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., also suggested that the president may “exact a bloodbath” if he did not win reelection.

“We have—we just have to win this election because [Trump’s] even predicting a bloodbath. What does that mean? He’s going to exact a bloodbath?” Pelosi told host of CNN’s “State of the Union” Dana Bash on Sunday.
