Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche remarked on the scandalizing case surrounding the disgraced late Jeffrey Epstein, promising that the Trump administration “has been more transparent than any past administration.”
Blanche’s remarks were made during an appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, as he seeks confirmation to fill the role of attorney general permanently.
“For four years, there wasn’t a peep about Jeffrey Epstein,” Blanche stated. “The Biden administration did nothing to be transparent about the Epstein case. We have been extraordinarily transparent in not only producing the records, but letting unredacted versions be available to anybody in this body.”
Epstein was a known sex-trafficker. His alleged network and the mystery surrounding his operations have sparked intense speculation and criticism over the years. In 2019, Epstein was found dead in his federal jail cell.
“When it comes to the victims of this horrible man, we will never, never not talk to victims,” Blanche said. “We will never not do everything we can to prosecute anybody that committed any crimes against any of these women.”
Blanche said that the Justice Department had spoken with more than 30 representatives linked to dozens of victims. “I would encourage them or their lawyers to meet with the FBI,” he said. “We will 100 percent investigate. There are no closed investigations. If we learn today, if we learn next week, if we learn next month that there’s an individual that we can investigate, indict, and prosecute out of the Epstein files, you better believe that we will.”
Blanche was very firm that the Department of Justice had complied with the Epstein Files Transparency Act (signed into law in 2025), which authorized the release of “all documents and records in possession of the Department of Justice related to Jeffrey Epstein, and for other purposes.”
Since then, millions of documents have been declassified and made publicly available online, via the Department of Justice.
