Less than one month after President Donald J. Trump signed the Big, Beautiful, Bill into law (BBB), Republican lawmakers are already working on another one.

The Republican Study Committee (RSC), a powerhouse group of 189 House GOP members, is spearheading this effort by launching a working group to shape a new budget reconciliation bill, according to Fox News Digital.

This marks the most significant step yet to deliver on GOP promises to prioritize American families, security, and prosperity. The congressional conservative think tank is laser-focused on building on the momentum of BBB—a landmark achievement signed into law by Trump on the Fourth of July.

That legislation cemented many key pillars of Trump’s agenda, including making the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) permanent, strengthening border security, reforming immigration, bolstering defense, and unleashing American energy.

It also imposed work requirements on Medicaid and food stamps to ensure fiscal responsibility while empowering citizens.

“We must capitalize on the momentum we’ve generated in the first 6 months of a Republican trifecta in Washington,” RSC Chairman August Pfluger, R-Texas, told Fox News Digital.

“To fulfill the promises we made to the American people, conservatives must begin laying the groundwork for the second reconciliation bill to ensure we continue to drive down the cost of living and restore America’s promise for future generations,” Pfluger added.

As House Republicans head into a five-week recess, they’re gearing up to tout the first bill’s benefits to voters—lower taxes, secure borders, and a stronger economy.

Meanwhile, Pfluger has tasked the new working group with engaging colleagues, conservative senators, and GOP organizations to craft a framework for the next bill, the outlet reported.

This America-First legislation aims to further slash burdensome regulations, prioritize national security, and empower working families.

The first bill’s passage was a political triumph that overcame months of intense debate and skepticism from naysayers. By leveraging the budget reconciliation process, Republicans bypassed Democratic obstruction and passed the bill with a simple majority.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., emphasized the GOP’s ambitious roadmap on Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures, stating, “With President Trump coming back to the White House, and us having the responsibility for fixing every metric of public policy that Biden and Harris and the Democrats destroyed over the previous four years – so the big beautiful bill was the first big step in that. But we have multiple steps ahead of us. We have long planned for at least two, possibly three, reconciliation bills, one in the fall and one next spring.”
