Arizona AG demands officials hand over voter information for election audit probe

Arizona Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright earlier this month sent a pointed letter to the Arizona Secretary of State’s office demanding information related to voter registration list maintenance. As a result, Attorney General Mark Brnovich has begun an investigation of election fraud and is now calling for more information.

“As you are aware, the Senate has completed significant portions of its forensic audit, and has provided reports to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, which are being reviewed by the Elections Integrity Unit (“EIU”),” the letter states. “Many of the issues identified in the reports pertain to voter registration list maintenance.”

Information being requested includes data files, reports, records, spreadsheets, documents, or logs related to any voter registration maintenance lists provided by the U.S. Postal Service, Arizona Superior courts, United States District Court, the Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Secretary of State’s office.

Many conservative political leaders have addressed the need for an official investigation of the 2020 election results following the release of Arizona’s troubling findings from the audit of Maricopa County’s 2.1 million ballots.

The Trump-endorsed candidate running for Governor of Arizona, Kari Lake, stated in a tweet, “As bad as they want to make the stolen election, known as the ‘The Big Lie’ go away – they will never be successful. The World knows that 2020 was a terrible disaster that forced the worst President in History. If you think that the Election was fair, put down Hunter’s Crack pipe.”

To add perspective, Joe Biden’s margin of victory in Arizona was just over 10,000 votes. The Arizona presidential election audit identified more than 700,000 paper ballots with “issues,” including problematic voter signatures, duplicated votes, and “ghost votes.” With discrepancies of that size, the election could be decertified.

Republican legislators, like Arizona state Sen. Wendy Rogers, have been pushing for an official election audit for months, accusing the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors of allegedly committing election crimes:

“I want to see the Maricopa Board, @katiehobbs, and @Adrian_Fontes in cuffs – throw away the keys. That is the standard for what happened to us.”

Election irregularities continue to be uncovered in Arizona. This week, a Pima County mail-in ballot signal analysis found that President Trump outperformed with Republican voters by three percent on mail-in ballots, while Joe Biden underperformed among Democrat voters by three percent. “BUT when mail-in ballots started flooding in at over 92%, 20% higher than average, suddenly Biden starts outperforming Trump,” remarked Liz Harrington, official spokesperson for the 45th President. “RIGGED!” she added.

The Arizona attorney general’s official election investigation appears to be a step in the right direction for proponents of election integrity in Arizona and across all 50 states.
