Arizona lawmaker sounds off on fraud: ‘733k ballots unaccounted for’

Arizona State Senator Sonny Borrelli delivered a haunting update on the continuous criminal investigation into the 2020 presidential election.

“Members were informed of evidence from the 2020 election, about the drop boxes,” Borrelli said Tuesday. “For example, Maricopa County said that they had over 923,000 ballots that were dropped off at the drop boxes. However, documentation can only account for 189,167 ballots. Which means that there’s a deficit of 733,000 ballots.”

“That’s right. Over 733,000 ballots are unaccounted for,” he continued.

The remarks follow Arizona Republicans’ efforts to ban the unmonitored drop boxes to prevent illegal ballot harvesting, which Democrats greatly opposed.

Verity Vote, an election integrity group, revealed in January that Maricopa County officials violated state law after lacking chain of custody documentation for at least 740,000 ballots from drop boxes.

State Rep. Mark Finchem, R-Ariz., then introduced a resolution in February to decertify the 2020 presidential election in three counties, including Maricopa, citing Verity Vote’s revelations as evidence of significant voter discrepancies.

“The circumstances surrounding these elections undermine voter confidence in the election system. Moreover, they ultimately translate into doubts about election integrity,” Finchem said.

Most recently, the Attorney General’s Office of Arizona demanded that officials in Maricopa County release mail-in ballot signature files from the 2020 election. The request followed a damning report released by Election Systems Integrity Institute (ESII) exposing the flawed process used by the county to authenticate signatures on mail-in ballots.

However, Maricopa officials refused to comply, raising speculation about whether officials had something to hide.
