The White House has announced an official investigation into the autopen scandal, which alleges that former President Joe Biden delegated presidential responsibilities to others when signing official documents. Now, accusations have surfaced that Biden did not personally grant pardons.
According to Fox News, the White House is coordinating with the Department of Justice to review over 27,000 records. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, “It has been widely reported that Joe Biden handed the power of the presidency to an autopen controlled by unelected leftist staffers, who were allowed to make terrible decisions that destroyed our country.”
She added, “The Trump White House is committed to finding the answers to the many outstanding questions the American people still have about how business in the Biden White House was conducted.”
This came shortly after Biden admitted that he did not personally approve each pardon granted during his time in the White House, according to The New York Post. During a phone call with the New York Times, Biden allegedly claimed to make “every decision,” while also admitting that he merely approved the standards for choosing pardons and commutations, but left the individual sorting of who to approve to his staffers.
RSBN reported that President Donald Trump has repeatedly questioned the legality of the Biden administration’s autopen actions.
House Judiciary Committee member Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Tex., spoke out in support of President Trump’s autopen investigation on X, sharing a clip of his interview with Fox News Host Laura Ingram. He stated, “When you vote for a president, you expect him to lead and make decisions. But Biden didn’t. Pardons were issued in his name without his knowledge. His staff rewrote the pardon lists behind his back.”
Gill then went on to post, “Of the 25 pardons Biden issued, only one got his personal signature: Hunter Biden’s. President Trump was right all along.”
