[UPDATED 11:59 a.m. EST]

Just days after the failed second assassination attempt of President Trump, reports claimed that Nassau County Police discovered an explosive device during a K-9 sweep at a parked car near the venue where the Uniondale rally is being held in Long Island, NY.

A later update from law enforcement to the Daily Mail confirmed that a suspicious occurrence took place near the rally location, but that no “explosive device” was found.

The earlier report had stated explosives had been found, but were later reported as false.

Sources previously stated, “During K9, doing their checks, they found an explosive device in one of the vehicles and that driver ended up running into the woods. No one saw if he had anything on him, they just saw him take off running. A lot of cars are now parking, they’re lining up on Hempstead Turnpike, just parking on the grass. Even over at Eisenhower Park, they’re just parking over there.”

Nassau police worked swiftly to mitigate the situation by removing the explosive device to ensure the safety of rallygoers and President Trump ahead of his speech at 7:00 PM EST on September 17, 2024.
