“Sound of Freedom” star Jim Caviezel appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Thursday to promote the smash-hit independent film alongside Eduardo Verastegui, where he advocated for a return to a Trump presidency.
“We have to do a lot more,” Caviezel said, referring to fighting the scourge of human trafficking and child sex trafficking in the world.
He added, “We’ve got to start with Donald Trump…he’s got to be in there [the White House] because he’s going to go after the traffickers.”
The Fox host asked if Trump would be moved to halt human trafficking, and Caviezel confirmed that the president would. “We were with him last night in Bedminster…this is the new Moses,” he said.
“Sound of Freedom” has rocketed to unprecedented success at the box office as an independent film distributed by Angel Studios, best known for their hit Bible series, “The Chosen.”
According to the Washington Examiner, “Sound of Freedom” hit $100 million in box office sales this week, eclipsing the success of many other Hollywood films, and bringing awareness to its anti-sex trafficking message.
Caviezel has previously praised Trump for the 45th president’s work to fight against human trafficking, noting that his administration had “done incredible things.”
He explained in a recent interview with Real America’s Voice, “I believe Donald Trump was selected by God Almighty, and I’m talking about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit God. And he listened to the voice, and probably did not think he was the best guy, or maybe he thought he was the best guy. Because in my opinion he’s pretty great.”
On Wednesday evening, President Trump hosted a special screening of the film at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, where he was joined by Caviezel, Verastegui, and Tim Ballard.
Caviezel portrays Ballard onscreen in the film, which tells the story of the former DHS agent’s mission to rescue children from human traffickers around the globe through his organization, Operation Underground Railroad.
