House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Jame Comer, R-Ky., blasted former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for seeking “special treatment” for refusing to comply with subpoenas that required them to testify in the renewed Jeffrey Epstein investigation.

The House Oversight press release on the subject said, “The Clintons’ attorneys made an untenable offer where only the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform would travel to New York to have a conversation with only former President Bill Clinton. Other Committee Members would be barred from participating, and the Chairman and Ranking Member would only be allowed two staff each, with no official transcript.”

The release noted that Comer declined the “ridiculous offer.”

Comer publicly posted his reaction to X, stating, “The Clintons’ latest demands make clear they believe their last name entitles them to special treatment. The House Oversight Committee’s bipartisan subpoenas require the Clintons to appear for depositions that are under oath and transcribed.”

He called out former President Clinton for his use of evading questions under oath during his impeachment. He also noted Hillary Clinton’s “personal knowledge of Ms. Maxwell, and her family’s relationship with Mr. Epstein,” reminding everyone that the Contempt of Congress proceedings will be held on Wednesday morning.

Multiple House Representatives support holding the Clintons accountable for their refusal to testify.

Rep. Scott Perry, R-Penn.,  posted “The Clintons think they’re entitled to a special brand of immunity. They were lawfully subpoenaed to appear before Congress. They refused.”

Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas, wrote, “The Clintons see themselves as above the law. @GOPoversight is committed to hold them accountable.”

Rep. Gary Palmer, R-Ala., referenced a previous statement from Hillary Clinton, which asserted that “No one is above the law,” he agreed with her, adding, “Unfortunately, the Clintons believe they are and defied their subpoenas.”
