President Donald J. Trump came the closest he ever has to announcing a 2024 presidential run Thursday night at a chilly Sioux City, Iowa, rally.

Noting that he ran twice and won twice, Trump reassured supporters: “And now, in order to make our country successful and safe and glorious, I will very, very, very probably do it again, OK? Very, very, very probably.”

The enthusiastic crowd roared in response, breaking out into chants of “Trump! Trump! Trump!”

Bolstered by their cheers, the 45th president added, “Get ready. That’s all I’m telling you!”

The president’s remarks followed months of speculation about when he might announce a presidential bid.

Historically, candidates have waited until after the midterm elections to announce, and with Election Day just days away, it seems more likely that Trump will follow that tradition.

GETTR CEO and former Trump advisor Jason Miller recently suggested as much, stating: “It could be pretty soon after the midterms. My gut tells me it’s gonna be a little closer to the first of the year or maybe even just after the first of the year.”

For now, however, Trump’s focus appears to be on the midterm elections, as Thursday’s rally was just one of several the 45th president will be hosting in the days leading up to Election Day.

The next rally, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, will be in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Join RSBN for live coverage of that event here.
