Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, issued a dire warning to Americans Tuesday in preparation for the Supreme Court’s decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
In an interview with Newsmax, Cruz warned, “When that decision comes down, we’re gonna see the Left lose their minds.”
A leaked opinion draft from the Supreme Court in early May indicated that the justices had voted to overturn Roe v. Wade through their decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. In the aftermath of this revelation, the nation has eagerly awaited the Supreme Court’s ruling on the contentious abortion issue.
Left-wing activists have engaged in multiple protests at the homes of Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, and John Roberts. Additionally, a 26-year-old man named Nicholas John Roske was recently indicted by a federal grand jury for the attempted murder of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
In his interview, Cruz pointed out, “We’re already seeing Democratic politicians directing violent rioters to go to the justices’ homes, to threaten the justices’ homes.”
With a landmark Supreme Court decision that could be delivered this week, Cruz warned, “We’re deliberately going to see violence used as a tool of political terrorism by the Left.”
Sharing his optimism that the Supreme Court will vote in favor of pro-life advocates, Cruz stated, “I believe the court is going to do something that many of us have been working for and praying for our entire lives.”
If the Supreme Court votes to formally overturn Roe v. Wade, abortion legislation will be returned to the state level. Each state will be able to pass its own laws regarding the legality of abortion.
If this is the case, Cruz believes there will be nationwide protests and violence. “We’re gonna see, sadly, organized riots. I fear we’re going to see organized violence,” said the senator.
Drawing a comparison between the expected protests by abortion activists and the deadly riots in 2020, Cruz added, “I think we’re gonna see something very similar to what we saw in 2020 with the Antifa and Black Lives riots across the country.”
In a somber warning on Twitter, Cruz wrote, “Tragically, this is all too likely.”
