It’s been more than six months since the assassination attempt on President Trump at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, and UFC boss Dana White looks back on President Trump’s response with awe and pride.
In an interview with Piers Morgan on his “Uncensored” show, White, who has been a staunch supporter of President Trump, reveals what President Trump had said to him. The New York Post reported that he told Morgan he managed to speak to President Trump immediately after the assassination attempt and urged him to give up his campaign, but President Trump told him, “I can’t quit. You don’t ever quit. You never quit.” Despite being shot at, President Trump never backed down, and now he’s back in the White House.
White admitted he was stunned at President Trump’s response and remarked on his composure, telling Morgan, “The next day, he went to Milwaukee for the [Republican National Convention]. The next day. I mean, there are people who have been shot at and not killed that won’t leave their house, you know, and then there’s PTSD and lots of different things that can happen to you mentally.”
White also told Morgan, “But the thing is, with President Trump is he believes in God, and he’s very religious … He believes that, to his core, that God has spared his life to be the president and do the things that he’s going to do over the next four years.”
President Trump continues to lean on his faith, and RSBN shared that he announced several actions he would take to protect religious freedom in America and core Christian foundational values.
On Thursday, he joined lawmakers and dignitaries in Washington, D.C., for a National Prayer Breakfast. RSBN reported that during the prayer meeting, President Trump emphasized the importance of faith in America’s culture. He said, “From the earliest days of our republic, faith in God has always been the ultimate source of strength that beats in the heart of our nation.”
According to RSBN, President Trump’s faith got stronger after the association attempt, and he admitted, “It changed something in me, I feel. I feel even stronger. I believe in God, but I feel much more strongly about it. Something happened.”
