Judge Juan Merchan set the trial start date for President Trump’s “hush money” case for April 15, 2024, right in the middle of the heated presidential election season.
Trump has derided the case as “election interference” and slammed “Biden and his thugs” for allegedly instigating the case against him in the first place, along with other dramatic legal battles that he is currently facing.
According to a report from The Gateway Pundit, Judge Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan, has allegedly aided the clients of her political consulting firm, Authentic Campaigns, in raising tens of millions of dollars by utilizing the Trump case to drive donations.
“Both Schiff and the Senate Majority PAC have raised $93 million as clients of Merchan’s firm and are even using the politically driven case in fundraising emails,” TGP reported, pointing to an original reveal from The New York Post.
On Truth Social, Trump slammed Merchan and his daughter, calling her a “Rabid Trump Hater,” and accusing the judge of being “totally compromised.”
As previously reported by RSBN, Trump’s legal team asked for a delay in the trial start date and argued for a dismissal, but Judge Merchan declined to grant their request. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is responsible for spearheading the case, and Trump’s team has criticized his office for allegedly failing to hand over nearly 100,000 pages of supposed evidentiary documents sooner.
Last week, Judge Merchan also implemented a “limited” gag order on Trump ahead of the April 15 trial start date, which has also drawn the president’s intense criticism, per CNBC.
Commenting on reports regarding Loren Merchan’s alleged use of her father’s high-profile case to rake in campaign cash for political clients, Trump posited on Truth Social, “Judge Merchan should be immediately sanctioned and recused, and this fake ‘case,’ only kept alive by the Highly Conflicted Judge, should be completely dismissed right away – THERE IS NO CASE, THERE IS NO CRIME.”
