Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., appeared on political commentator Glenn Beck’s show, calling for freedom from the left’s indoctrination, including critical race theory (CRT).

Rejecting the left’s false version of American history, DeSantis affirmed that in the state of Florida, the “accurate history” is being taught.

“Freedom includes the freedom from indoctrination,” the governor posted on Twitter, with a video clip of his appearance on Beck’s show. “We, therefore, reject teaching kids to hate our country or to hate each other through concepts such as CRT.”

The governor has made significant strides to combat CRT and other racially discriminatory ideologies in both classrooms and workplaces across the state.

DeSantis first introduced the Stop the Wrongs to Our Kids and Employees (W.O.K.E.) Act in December, “taking a stand against the state-sanctioned racism that is critical race theory.”

“We won’t allow Florida tax dollars to be spent teaching kids to hate our country or to hate each other,” DeSantis said. “We also have a responsibility to ensure that parents have the means to vindicate their rights when it comes to enforcing state standards. Finally, we must protect Florida workers against the hostile work environment that is created when large corporations force their employees to endure CRT-inspired’ training’ and indoctrination.”

The legislation, signed by the governor in April, went into effect on July 1 after fighting lawsuits challenging its constitutionality, as previously reported.

DeSantis also took to Twitter last week to share his list of accomplishments in the state’s education system, including ending Common Core, expanding school choice, increasing teacher pay, and transitioning to the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST), focusing on individual student growth and ditching standardized testing.
