Gov. Ron DeSantis released a new campaign ad Wednesday celebrating the end of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s mask mandate on public transportation after a Florida judge nullified the order.
The video displays the stark contrast between how the White House and the American people responded to the end of forced mask-wearing.
Unsurprisingly, federal officials appeared displeased by the ruling, as White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters it was “a disappointing decision.”
However, passengers on airplanes broke out in cheers and applauses after major airlines announced an immediate end to the policy, a tremendous victory for medical freedom.
“It’s fitting that the Free State of Florida was home to the ruling that unmasked millions of Americans on airplanes and other forms of transport,” DeSantis said, posting the ad on Twitter. “Biden needs to drop any appeal attempts and acknowledge the misery he imposed on so many of our airline employees and passengers.”
U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle became revered as a champion for medical freedom after she ruled that the CDC failed to justify its mask mandate and follow rulemaking protocols. The Florida-based judge vacated the rule immediately in a lawsuit filed against Joe Biden by the Health Freedom Defense Fund, Inc.
“The Court concludes that the Mask Mandate exceeds the CDC’s statutory authority and violates the procedures required for agency rulemaking under the APA,” the ruling affirmed.
“Accordingly, the Court vacates the Mandate and remands it to the CDC,” the ruling added.
Major airlines like Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, and JetBlue Airways lifted the mask mandate for employees and passengers following the ruling.
Rideshare companies Uber and Lyft also dropped masking rules for all parties. Amtrak rail system followed ending mask mandates on their rail cars.
