Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., signed a bill banning Sharia Law in Florida to protect Americans’ constitutional rights.
Florida House Bill No. 1471 was first introduced by State House officials in January. The legislation passed both the Florida House and Senate last month. The legislation updates the State Constitution to acknowledge that “[r]eligious freedom shall not justify practices inconsistent with public morals, peace or safety.”
“The Legislature finds that certain practices inherent in some foreign laws or foreign legal systems violate fundamental due process rights, deny equal protection of the laws based on sex or religious belief, or authorize cruel and unusual punishments, and that such practices are incompatible with the United States and Florida Constitutions,” it adds.
DeSantis posted the news on X, stating, “This legislation also establishes a framework to combat terrorist organizations and ensures greater accountability for our education system. Millions for education and public safety but not one cent for jihad!”
This comes as culture clashes have escalated due to a growing Islamic influence in the United States.
Just last month, RSBN reported that two Islamic suspects were apprehended after throwing a homemade bomb at protesters outside of Gracie Mansion who oppose New York City’s socialist democrat Mayor.
Within days, a former Army National Guard Member who had become radicalized by Islam attempted to carry out a mass shooting at Old Dominion University in Virginia. He shouted, “Allah Akbar,” before opening fire, but was overpowered by the students, per AP News.
On March 26, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released the results of an investigation into the development of an unlawful ‘Sharia City.’ The project sought to create a “sustainable city” that would draw up to 20,000 foreign nationals to the rural area, but amid national attention, the plans were withdrawn.
Concerns regarding unlawful Sharia Law and the Islamization of the West have grown as the Muslim population in the United States increases. DeSantis celebrated the implementation of the new bill banning unlawful Sharia practices in Florida, which strengthens human rights protections.
To uphold the rule of law, our state must operate under one legal system, the Constitution must remain the law of the land, and we must defend our institutions from those who would harm us—especially terrorist organizations that seek to infiltrate and subvert our education… pic.twitter.com/dyUHJCnBux

After signing the bill, he stated on social media, “To uphold the rule of law, our state must operate under one legal system, the Constitution must remain the law of the land, and we must defend our institutions from those who would harm us—especially terrorist organizations that seek to infiltrate and subvert our education system. HB 1471 reinforces these principles in Florida, and I was proud to sign it into law today.”
