Conservative filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza weighed in on the shocking FBI raid of President Donald Trump’s home, Mar-a-Lago, in a statement posted to Twitter. “The Mar-a-Lago raid confirms the failure of the #January6thHearing,” he wrote. “They tried get him for that and all they produced was second-hand gossip.”
The FBI’s unprecedented search of President Trump’s private residence in Palm Beach, Florida, has drawn the ire of many Americans. Trump himself referred to the raid as “ABUSE in Law Enforcement” in a statement shared to Truth Social.
“Now it’s on to fantastic tales about nuclear codes and the Espionage Act,” D’Souza continued in his comments. “Pathetic! Predictable! And even to a point, entertaining!”
Trump himself has frequently taken jabs at the “Unselect Committee of political hacks and thugs” investigating the so-called “insurrection” that took place at the U.S. Capitol in 2021. Despite weeks of dramatic televised hearings, the committee failed to find any evidence that could prove Trump did anything to “incite” the events at the Capitol.
“The RAID was Politics, the Midterm Elections, and 2024,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It’s another form of Election CHEATING – That’s all the Radical Left Democrats know what to do. They use the FBI & DOJ to try and dirty up their opponents, but the people of our Country are wise to them like never before. Be careful what you wish for!”
D’Souza made major waves earlier this year with the release of his staggeringly successful documentary, “2000 Mules,” which partnered with election integrity organization True the Vote. The film revealed evidence of a nationwide illegal ballot trafficking conspiracy during the 2020 presidential election.
“The Left is endlessly inventive in fabricating allegations against Trump and, even as each one is shot down or shown to be absurd, they contact a new one and assure us that this time they are acting responsibly and impartially,” D’Souza stated in another Twitter comment.
“How gullible one has to be to fall for it – again!” he added.
