Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter and innovative creator behind Tesla and SpaceX, declared on Monday that he recommended that American Independent voters cast their ballots for Republicans.

“To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,” he said on Twitter.

Musk continued, “Hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide who’s in charge!”

Musk made waves earlier this year when he announced that he would be voting Republican after “overwhelmingly” voting for the Democrat Party. Per RSBN, Musk stated during a tech conference in Miami, “In fact, I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically. Like, I’m not sure — I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear. Now, this election I will.”

Musk’s call to action for voters in this election comes just weeks after the billionaire sealed the deal to purchase Twitter and took control of the company.

“Twitter needs to become by far the most accurate source of information about the world,” he stated on Sunday. “That’s our mission.”
