Erika Kirk, the wife of the late Turning Point USA President and conservative student activist Charlie Kirk, will fulfill a role at the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors.
Mrs. Kirk, who now serves as the CEO and Chair of Turning Point USA, was appointed by President Donald Trump to sit on the board, filling the seat that was originally designated for her husband last year, Fox News reported.
The U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors “inquires into the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods, and other matters relating to the Academy which the Board decides to consider,” the website explains.
Charlie Kirk was one of three appointments to the board in 2025 – the other two were Alabama Rep. Tommy Tuberville (R) and former Deputy National Security Advisor Dina Powell.
White House Spokeswoman Oliva Wales said in a statement, obtained by Fox News, of Mrs. Kirk’s appointment, “President Trump made the perfect choice in appointing Erika Kirk to the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors. Charlie Kirk served proudly on the Board, inspiring not only the next generation of servicemembers, but millions around the world with his bold Christian faith, defense of the truth, and deep love of country. Erika Kirk will continue his legacy, and will be a fearless advocate for the most elite airpower force in the history of the world whose warriors keep our Nation safe, strong, and free.”
Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., was also recently appointed to the board, as were Sens. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., and Ted Budd, R-N.C.
Sen. Mullin was nominated just last week as the next Secretary of Homeland Security, pending his confirmation in the U.S. Senate.
Mrs. Kirk took the helm of Turning Point USA just days after her husband’s tragic assassination in September 2025. She is also scheduled as the 2026 commencement speaker for Hillsdale College on May 9, as reported previously by RSBN.
