The Republican Party of Florida has gained thousands of voters across numerous counties, while Democrats suffer significant losses ahead of November’s midterm election.
According to data from the Florida Department of State’s July report, the GOP gained 71,046 voters year-to-date since 2021, and Democrats lost roughly 116,767 voters in the same timeframe.
Since November, thousands of voters have trended toward the Republican Party, surpassing Democrats for the first time in the state’s history, as RSBN previously reported.
In March, Republican voter registrations outpaced Democrats by over 100,000, achieving another milestone in large part due to Gov. Ron DeSantis’s excellent leadership in the state.
“There’s no beating around the fact this historic gain is because of Governor Ron DeSantis,” Florida Republican Party Executive Director Helen Aguirre Ferré told Fox News Digital. “Florida voters are appreciative of the palpable sense of freedom he has created in our state.”
The surge in GOP voters is constant with the massive exodus from blue states, such as New York, to a warmer and less authoritarian state, the Sunshine State.
The New York Post reported that 21,546 citizens ditched their New York driver’s license for a Florida one during the first four months of 2022, a 12 percent increase during the same period in 2021 and 55 percent higher than the first four months of 2019 pre-pandemic.
