Eric Trump, the son of President Donald Trump, announced this week that the location of a presidential library for his father will be built in the Sunshine State, thanks to the donation of a key parcel of land.

“I am extremely proud to announce a UNANIMOUS vote by the Florida Cabinet for the conveyance of land for the @realDonaldTrump Presidential Library which will be located in… MIAMI, FLORIDA!” the younger Trump, who also serves as the Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, wrote on X.

“It will be the greatest Presidential Library ever built, honoring the greatest President our Nation has ever known,” he added.

The announcement comes shortly after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) office last week revealed that he and his cabinet were considering a proposal that would deed a 2.63-acre parcel of land in Miami-Dade County to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library.

The acreage is currently being used as an employee parking lot for the Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus.

“President Trump has achieved results for the American people and made a lasting impact on our nation’s history,” Gov. DeSantis stated. “No state has better delivered the President’s agenda than the Free State of Florida, and we would be honored to house his presidential library here in his home state.”

In his statement confirming Florida’s approval of the project, Eric Trump thanked Gov. DeSantis and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier for their support. He also promised that the library would be “beautiful.”

“Consistent with our families DNA, this will be one of the most beautiful buildings ever built, an Icon on the Miami skyline – – rest assured it will not look like President Obama ‘prison like structure,’” he wrote.

He was referring to former President Barack Obama’s current presidential library construction project in Chicago, which has drawn some criticism for its hulking and somewhat brutish design.

Obama’s library is also several years behind schedule and significantly over budget. Originally projected to cost $300 million to build, it is now estimated to cost $850 million, according to Obama Foundation Spokesperson Emily Bittner.
