A former Voice of America employee pleaded guilty Thursday to making a series of threats against Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, federal prosecutors said.

Seth Jason, 64, admitted to making anonymous telephone threats after placing eight calls to Greene’s congressional offices between October 2023 and January 2025, according to the Justice Department, WUSA9 first reported.

Jason pleaded guilty to charges related to interstate communications containing threats and anonymous telecommunications harassment. Prosecutors said the calls escalated in severity over time, peaking around President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.

According to court records, Jason left a voicemail for Greene’s office on Jan. 8 in which he said that Greene and her staff “were as good as dead.” In another call on Jan. 21, he warned her office to prepare final arrangements, saying, “because we are coming after you, and the only thing you’re going to hear is bang … I’m yearning to hear you cry for your last breath.”

Prosecutors also said Jason told Greene during the period of the calls that she would not “see the inaugural,” a reference to Trump’s January swearing-in.

“Seth Jason repeatedly threatened to assault and kill Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and did so from inside Voice of America where he was employed. No one should have to live their life in fear wondering if those threats are about to be fulfilled,” said U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro. “Today’s guilty plea sends a clear message—my office will not take these threats lightly—think twice because we will find you and we will convict you.”

Jason faces up to five years in prison for interstate communications with a threat to kidnap or injure and up to two years for anonymous telecommunications harassment. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 18, 2026.

Greene has been the target of repeated threats during her time in office. She has said she plans to resign from Congress next month, citing ongoing security concerns and death threats directed at both herself and her son following a public rift with Trump.

Voice of America has not commented publicly on Jason’s employment status beyond confirming that he is no longer with the organization.
