Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill introduced legislation on Tuesday that would add President Donald Trump’s face to the $100 bill.
The Golden Age Act of 2025 proposed to include Trump as the leader of the “Golden Age of America.”
“President Trump could be enjoying his golden years golfing and spending time with his family,” Gill told Fox News Digital. “Instead, he took a bullet for this country and is now working overtime to secure our border, fix our uneven trade relationship with the rest of the world, make America energy independent again, and put America first by ending useless foreign aid.”
Gill’s office also noted that “the Secretary of Treasury shall release to the public the preliminary design of the $100 note prominently featuring President Trump no later than December 31, 2026. This legislation would require that all $100 bills after December 31, 2028, feature a picture of Donald J. Trump on the front face of the note.”
Fellow Texas Republican Rep. Troy Nehls served as co-sponsor of the bill.
Benjamin Franklin, a founding father who helped write the Declaration of Independence, is the current face on the $100 bill. Though a famous figure in American history, he never served as a U.S. president.
Presidents serve as the face of other forms of currency, including George Washington on the $1 bill, Thomas Jefferson on the $2 bill, Abraham Lincoln on the $5 bill, Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill and Ulysses S. Grant on the $50 bill.
The proposal follows legislation introduced last week by South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson called the Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act. The congressman is seeking approval of the new legal tender with Trump’s face in time for the 250th anniversary of the U.S. in 2026.
“Bidenflation has destroyed the economy forcing American families to carry more cash. President Trump is working tirelessly to fight inflation and help American families. This achievement is deserving of currency recognition, which is why I am grateful to introduce this legislation. The most valuable bill for the most valuable President!” Willson wrote in a statement.
