South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) addressed two major issues this week while appearing for an interview on Real America’s Voice, warning about the dangers of Chinese control within America and fielding questions about a potential vice-presidential run alongside President Trump.
“We’ve seen China aggressively go after purchasing our land in this country, and my belief has been for over 20 years now that we’ve systematically seen China buy up our supply chains,” she explained.
Gov. Noem pointed out that China controls American supply chains on chemicals, fertilizer, and the ingredients for critical prescription drugs.
She continued, “Now we’ve seen them in the last several years go out into several states and purchase ag land…and I really believe that when they do control the supply chain, they will control the United States of America.”
Noem added, “If we think a pandemic was scary, wait until people go to the grocery store and people realize that they can’t feed their children because China has decided that they are not going to allow it because they want to aggressively pursue their agenda in this country.”
She stumped for putting “America first” and taking the threat of Chinese incursion seriously as a “national security issue.”
As for running on the Trump ticket in 2024, Noem remained cryptic, stating, “Well, there’s a lot of people they’re talking about for vice president…I have long supported President Trump – he had his priorities right when he was leading this country.”
Earlier this year, Gov. Noem officially endorsed Trump for president during a rally in South Dakota, calling him the “leader, the fighter that our country needs.”
She said that her top priority was simply to see Trump win the White House “so we can continue to be the greatest country in the world, and we can continue to protect our country.”
“…I want him to win,” she added of any potential V.P. pick, “…That’s going to be his decision and his alone, and I trust him with that.”
On Thursday, unconfirmed rumors arose on social media that retired neurosurgeon and respected conservative thought leader Dr. Ben Carson could be among President Trump’s top picks for a vice presidential candidate.
