Get ready for a star-splangled spectacle in Washington, D.C., on Saturday as America commemorates the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary, established on June 14, 1775, by the Second Continental Congress.
This historic event, part of the United States Semiquincentennial, celebrates the Army’s enduring legacy through conflicts from the Revolutionary War to modern operations. Around 200,000 spectators are expected to line Constitution Avenue NW, from 23rd Street to 15th Street, starting near the Lincoln Memorial and ending at The Ellipse.
For those watching remotely, Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) will provide live coverage. RSBN’s YouTube channel will stream the parade starting at 4:30 p.m. ET, offering a free, high-quality broadcast accessible worldwide.
The parade, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET, will feature 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles, including M1 Abrams tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles, and 50 aircraft, such as CH-47 Chinooks and vintage P-51 Mustangs. Historical reenactors will showcase uniforms and equipment from every era, highlighting the Army’s evolution.
President Donald J. Trump will deliver remarks, joined by veterans, active-duty troops, and Gold Star Families. The event coincides with Flag Day and Trump’s 79th birthday, adding patriotic enthusiasm. A fireworks display and a concert featuring the U.S. Army’s Golden Knights Parachute Team will cap the evening around 9:30 p.m.
Earlier events include the Army Birthday Festival on the National Mall from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering free interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and family-friendly activities that showcase military technology and history.
Last week, President Trump encouraged Americans to attend or tune in, promising “an unforgettable celebration.”
“On Saturday, June 14th, which is Flag Day, we are honoring the 250th anniversary of the greatest fighting force in history, the United States Army,” he remarked.
For two and a half centuries, the men and women of America’s Army have dominated our enemies and protected our freedom at home. This parade salutes our soldiers’ remarkable strength and unbeatable spirit. You won’t want to miss it. Just don’t miss this one, it’s gonna be good.”
