President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday a major manufacturing development that favors the United States and promises to add more wind to the sails of the American economy.

“Today, Apple is announcing that it will invest $600 billion…in the United States over the next four years – that’s $100 billion more than they were originally going to invest,” the president said during a press conference. “This is the largest investment Apple has ever made in America and anywhere else.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook joined the president in the Oval Office for this momentous announcement, which will feature an “ambitious new American manufacturing program,” according to the president.

Trump also said the United States had accrued $17 trillion in investments so far, thanks to his trade policies.

As an additional bonus, Trump explained that Apple will increase spending on domestic supply chains for Apple iPhone and Apple Watch protective glass screens in Harrisburg, Kentucky. According to this plan, this glass will be produced exclusively in the United States.

Further, the plan presented by Apple and the White House may create up to 450,000 jobs with suppliers and partners in all 50 states.

To commemorate the occasion, Tim Cook presented President Trump with a special gift crafted from glass that will be manufactured in the United States, complete with a gold base that complemented Trump’s Oval Office décor.

“We’re doing these things in the United States instead of other countries,” President Trump said.

He praised the “mass infusion of capital” from Apple. The company will also build a 250,000 square foot server manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, with plans to build other plants across the U.S.

“Today’s announcement is one of the largest commitments in what has become among the greatest investment booms in our nation’s history,” Trump said.

Tim Cook thanked President Trump for his vision and leadership in the White House, praising him as an “advocate for innovation and manufacturing.”

“I’m grateful for your leadership and your commitment,” Cook remarked.
