Israel shared intelligence with the United States warning that Iran had allegedly developed a new plot to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.

The report said Israeli officials passed the intelligence to U.S. counterparts as tensions between the U.S. and Iran continued to rise following recent military exchanges and renewed threats between the two countries.

If confirmed, the alleged plot would represent another chapter in Iran’s longstanding hostility toward President Trump. Iranian leaders have repeatedly condemned the president since the 2020 U.S. strike that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force.

Speaking with reporters Wednesday in Ankara, Turkey, President Trump said he believes Iran’s leadership wants him dead because of the actions he has taken against the regime.

“I’m on every list,” he said.

President Trump also acknowledged the personal risks associated with his approach to Iran, saying he understands the danger but remains committed to his objectives.

The president has consistently said preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon remains his administration’s primary goal.

According to the Journal, the intelligence warning came as the United States and Iran remained at odds over regional security. The president has warned Iran that additional military action remains possible and has said an earlier ceasefire agreement no longer appeared to be holding.

The reported intelligence follows earlier U.S. investigations into alleged Iranian efforts to target Trump and other current and former American officials.

Last year, the Justice Department charged a man accused of working on behalf of Iran in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme targeting Trump before his return to the White House.

Iran has denied previous accusations that it has sought to assassinate Trump.

Neither the White House nor Israeli or Iranian officials have publicly confirmed the specific intelligence details described in The Wall Street Journal report.
