District Court Judge Tanya S. Chutkan of Washington, D.C., ruled Monday that a partial gag order would be placed on President Trump in order to protect witnesses.
The New York Times reported that the limited gag order would restrict the 45th president from “making public statements attacking the witnesses, prosecutors or court staff involved in the federal criminal case in which he stands accused of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election.”
However, Trump is not barred from criticizing Joe Biden, the federal government, or political adversaries, NYT reported.
Before the news broke, President Trump posted on Truth Social, “The TRUMP GAG ORDER that the CORRUPT Biden Administration is trying to obtain is totally Unconstitutional!”
