Kari Lake has made a new filing in her ongoing election integrity case in the great state of Arizona, bringing evidence to light that alleges Maricopa County tested election tabulators on three separate days leading up to the November 2022 election.
Kari Lake’s attorney, Kurt Olsen, told the court this week, “There were extraordinary findings of misconduct that are directly related to the court’s findings in its December 24/22 order dismissing that claim.”
He continued, “The issues are of such an extensive nature that they show Maricopa officials conducted secret testing on the tabulators on October 14, 17, and 18 – that’s after the Logic and Accuracy test was certified…260 of those 446 tabulators failed that secret testing. And then those tabulators were used in the election.”
These findings are significant, because a large part of Lake’s case has hinged on her claim that widespread voter disenfranchisement took place in Maricopa County on Election Day last year due in part to tabulation problems.
Editor-in-Chief for Uncover DC, Tracy Beanz, unpacked the newest information on Twitter, positing, “New evidence shows Maricopa falsely certified that it passed L&A testing, and then secretly tested all of the tabulators on three different days. It also shows they KNEW that 260 of the tabulators WOULD FAIL on Election Day.”
Further, the filing alleged that Director of Elections Scott Jarrett potentially gave “FALSE TESTIMONY at trial concerning the BOD printers failures that caused the tabulators to malfunction,” Beanz analyzed.
The filing itself is asking for “relief from judgement” in light of this new evidence that seems to confirm that Maricopa County reportedly was well aware that a large portion of their tabulators would not function properly for Election Day.
Lake’s new motion is yet more bad news for Maricopa County election officials. On Wednesday, America First Legal announced that they were filing a lawsuit against Arizona Secretary of State and the Arizona Department of State with the intent to obtain records related to the 2022 midterm elections in Maricopa County.
They explained in an official press statement, “The 2022 election in Maricopa County was marred by, in the words of one Arizona judge, widespread ‘failures” and ‘technical problems.’ It is therefore no surprise that 55% of Arizona voters ‘believe it is likely that problems with the 2022 election in Maricopa County affected the outcome.’ With public confidence so low, it is crucial that the government offer full transparency when it comes to public records.”
