Former news anchor and Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has filed with the Federal Election Commission to run for Senate in Arizona.

Lake, who has recently been in court for a denied public records request back in 2022, has made multiple hints at a comeback to politics via a seat in the Senate, but she has yet to make an official announcement.

However, many news outlets like Axios believe that this announcement will be happening soon at her rally, which is set to be held on October 10. RSBN will be covering the huge announcement live.

Another sign of Lake’s intention to run for Senate was her meeting with multiple Republican members of the Senate. The New York Times reported that Lake had met with Senator Steve Daines of Montana, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. It is believed that Daines may endorse Lake’s Senate campaign.

Currently, the only Republican candidate who is officially running for Senate is Mark Lamb, Pinal County Sheriff. This will be Lamb’s second year fighting for a seat in the Senate. Lake’s other potential competitors will be Democrat Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., and Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who is running as an Independent. However, Sinema has not yet officially put in her bid for reelection.

The contest for a seat in the Senate is sure to be a closely watched one amongst Republicans as both Lake and Lamb have been publicly backed by President Trump. This means their campaign will have to be strong in the majority Republican-led state. According to CNN, Arizona has long been Republican-led, with most of its statewide executive offices and legislature run by Republicans.

Lake’s big announcement about her future in Arizona will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET and can be watched here.
