Kari Lake’s ongoing legal battle against Maricopa County and former Secretary of State Katie Hobbs has hit another milestone this week, as the Arizona State Supreme Court has ordered a hearing on Lake’s challenge to the county’s signature verification processes.
As reported by Just the News, Arizona’s highest court has ordered a hearing to look at Lake’s accusations that Maricopa County allegedly violated signature verification processes on Election Day in November 2022.
The Liberty Daily pointed out that all but one sanction request on Lake was denied, with only a single $2,000 legal fine imposed on her legal team. They offered the following analysis:
“Those who get their news from corporate media likely believe Kari Lake’s legal battle against the massive, widespread voter fraud that stole the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election had a huge loss today. That’s how media’s spinning it.
The reality is this: All but one minor sanction requested to be imposed on Lake’s legal team were shot down and the court ordered the signature verification audit to be expedited. Other than the minor $2,000 fine over poor legal wording, today was a victory for Team Kari.”
RSBN previously revealed that Lake had asked the court to reconsider the issue surrounding 35,563 allegedly “unaccounted” ballots that were processed by a third-party election company.
Per Just the News, this issue was sent back to the Maricopa County Superior Court, and now that the higher court has ruled on the sanctions, the hearing on the signature verification issue may proceed.
Arizona Sun Times reporter Rachel Alexander posited on Twitter, “…Courts never award sanctions for only the small amount of $2,000 – especially in huge cases like this. This is actually a very good sign for Kari Lake, the fact the court is really trying to duck sanctioning her attorneys. I’m seeing a trend here that we did not see take place during the 2020 election fraud challenges; the courts are no longer ruling 100% against the challenges every step of the way.”
Lake has not let the legal skirmish in Arizona hold her back since November 2022. She recently spoke at CPAC Hungary and is slated to soon release her first book, “Unafraid: Just Getting Started.”
