Under the Trump administration, an important landmark in Washington, D.C., has received a major facelift, just in time for the nation’s 250th birthday celebration.

“The Reflecting Pool is now 100% coated with American Flag Blue sealant!” U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum announced on Monday.

He continued, “Another major milestone in restoring this landmark and ensuring it lasts for generations of Americans to celebrate our great history in our nation’s capital.”

The renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has been one of several priorities for President Donald Trump, who has worked hard to beautify Washington, D.C., ahead of America’s 250th anniversary.

Last month, the president visited the site of the renovation, telling reporters that the “gray stone” would be replaced with a blue sealant.

“It’s going to look better than it did in 1922 when it was built,” he told reporters, via RSBN.

Over the weekend, President Trump discussed the renovation of the Reflecting Pool on Truth Social, accusing former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden of failing to take care of it.

“The Reflecting Pool, built between The Lincoln Memorial and The Washington Monument, which was destroyed by Barack Hussein Obama and Sleepy Joe Biden after spending Hundreds of Millions of Dollars trying to fix it (It only got worse!), is moving along nicely, and we should easily make the July 4th date,” President Trump wrote. “It will be SPECTACULAR, and good, without leaks, for 100 years, at a fraction of the cost!”

President Trump’s efforts to give D.C. a facelift have been robust. According to the White House, over the past 14 months, 153 homeless encampments have been moved out of D.C., 22 fountains have been restored, 28 statues have been cleaned, and more than 500 instances of graffiti have been removed.

Just last week, the Department of the Interior announced the reopening of Columbus Circle, following five months of renovations. This included restoring the Columbus Fountain, according to the agency.

The president has also waged a war on crime in D.C. In 2025, he declared a crime emergency in the city and brought in the U.S. National Guard to help D.C. Metro Police clean up the streets.
