Maricopa County has been the epicenter of election integrity issues since 2020, and now county officials are claiming that the results of the 2024 election will take 10-13 days to be counted.

12 News reported that local officials are blaming “tight races,” high voter turnout and this year’s “two-page ballot,” for the expected delay.

The report noted that 79 races are on the area’s ballot. The estimated voter turnout is expected to reach one million residents, with 400,000 voters having already cast early ballots.

Maricopa County’s 2020 election results were highly contested. RSBN reported that only last year it was revealed that thousands of ballots were counted without proof of citizenship.

In addition, area officials certified questionable election results for the area’s 2022 midterm elections despite nearly 300,000 ballots allegedly lacking a legally required chain of custody, per RSBN.

Election integrity has been a main concern for conservatives after multiple unprecedented circumstances occurred in the 2020 election, and all eyes are on previous players.

While concerns for Maricopa County remain, other swing states have also announced a delay in ballot counting, before voter turnout is even known.

According to the Post Millennial, Michigan’s Secretary of State Jocelyn Bensen also warned that election results are likely to be delayed.

Benson is also currently facing litigation from the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Michigan Republican Party for “incomplete” ballot verification processes by election workers, via the Post Millennial.
