President Donald Trump received a 76 percent approval rating for his historic Address of the Joint Session of Congress Tuesday night.
According to a CBS News/YouGov survey, 76 percent of viewers approved of the speech overall. Not only did viewers massively support President Trump’s speech, but they supported his focus and plans as well. 63 percent of viewers noted that he spoke about a lot of issues that matter to them, and 28 percent agreed that he at least gave some attention to the issues they cared about.
The majority of viewers also expressed positive feelings about how the speech made them feel. 68 percent noted that Trump’s address gave them hope. 54 percent stated that it made them proud.
Nearly three fourths of viewers rated the speech as presidential, entertaining, and inspiring. 62 percent called it unifying.
When considering President Trump’s plans for the future, most viewers admitted that they approved of them. A whopping 77 percent of viewers appreciated his plans to end government waste and stop the border crisis. 73 percent approved of his handling of the War in Ukraine.
In addition, 65 percent backed his use of tariffs against other nations.
The majority of viewers were Trump supporters, and believe that he has accurately described the crime issues within the nation.
When questioned about Speaker of the House Mike Johnson removing Rep. Al Green, D-Tex., after he repeatedly disrupted the speech and refused to sit down, 76 percent of viewers agreed with the decision siding with decorum over fanaticism.
The speech ran the longest of any address in American history, lasting one hour and forty minutes, per Fox News.
America First supporters cheered on many heartwarming moments during the speech, from President Trump honoring 13-year-old DJ Daniel, a brain cancer survivor by making him a member of the Secret Service, to dedicating a wildlife refuge to the 12-year-old-girl who was a victim of illegal immigration violence, Joselyn Nungaray, the 47th president didn’t disappoint after he opened his address by declaring, “America is back!”
