Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., lit up CPAC on Saturday during an interview with RSBN’s Brian Glenn. Gaetz discussed how Americans could harness the energy from this weekend’s riveting conservative gathering and practically apply it to help the GOP take back the House and Senate in 2022.
“Well, there is so much enthusiasm for what we can do if we regain some of the levers of power in our government again,” Gaetz said, “but to get there the activists who are gathered here at CPAC have to enhance their skill stack. And really, everyone watching: You know, if you are a good communicator, how can you be better? If you can share Right Side content, if you can be a digital warrior for the America First movement, find a way to get in the game that way.”
He added, “So it’s about, really, broadening the skills we have to affect outcomes.”
Gaetz additionally said that he did not want to win simply by default. “I want to win because we put a vision forward to actually win battles for our people again,” he shared.
He continued, “We can do that on the border, we can do that with spending policy, we can stop paying people not to work, and we can unleash energy in this country so that we’re prosperous again.”
He encouraged Americans to get involved at the local level. “We have to be a movement that is vertically integrated,” the congressman explained.
Gaetz additionally addressed his dedication to speaking the truth, addressing a viral video where he demonstrated his opinion about women attending pro-abortion rallies, which he called “pro-murder rallies.”
“We have to start speaking the truth to people,” he said. “…Sometimes folks just gotta be offended.”
On the question of whether or not Trump would run again in 2024, Gaetz said that he believed Trump would run and win. “I think a good, fun primary will be a nice tune-up for Donald Trump,” he concluded. “I think he’ll be back in the White House and America will be back on track.”
