In her first interview since leaving the White House over a year ago, First Lady Melania Trump blasted the current “leadership” over the baby formula shortage.

When asked by Fox News’ Pete Hegseth about the state of the nation under Biden, the first lady said in the interview, which aired Sunday, that “a lot of people are struggling and suffering,” adding, “it’s very sad to see and I hope it changes fast.”

Hegseth then moved the conversation to the ongoing baby formula shortage impacting families across the nation. He asked Melania Trump how she felt about the crisis “as someone who loves children and has dedicated so much to their betterment.”

“It’s heartbreaking to see that they are struggling and the food is not available for children in [the] 21st century in the United States of America,” she replied, citing “leadership” or lack thereof as the reason for the shortage.

Melania Trump is well-respected for her charity work for children. She recently announced her latest project, minting a new NFT to support foster care communities throughout national foster care month.

“Many children, including those in the foster care community, need extra support to realize their personal American Dream,” she said. “Through the sale of The MetaRose, we can lift up foster children and provide opportunities for them to thrive.”

Melania Trump, a former supermodel, also addressed the Vogue magazine controversy, where Democrat first ladies Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, and Hillary Clinton have all been featured. Yet, she was not despite her well-known background in beauty and fashion.

“They’re biased and they have likes and dislikes and it’s so obvious,” the first lady said. “And I think American people and everyone sees it. It was their decision and I have much more important things to do and I did in the White House than being on the cover of Vogue.”
