First Lady Melania Trump’s new memoir has soared to number one in the United States for book sales, even though it has not officially been released.
Mrs. Trump currently tops the charts in four categories, including Amazon’s Books, Memoirs, U.S. Presidents and Political Leader Biographies, according to The Post Millennial.
President Trump congratulated his wife on Thursday in a post on X, formerly Twitter. The 45th president wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS to our incredible former First Lady—as her new book MELANIA hit #1 in the USA! Buy your copy today at http://MelaniaTrump.com.”
Earlier this month Melania Trump offered a preview of what to expect from the memoir. In a video post captioned, “My Story. My Perspective. The Truth.” she said, “Writing this memoir has been a deeply personal and reflective journey for me.”
She continued, “As a private person who has often been the subject of public scrutiny and misrepresentation, I feel a responsibility to clarify the facts. I believe it is important to share my perspective, the truth.”
Mrs. Trump discussed the book in an extensive interview with Fox and Friends. When asked why she wanted to tell her story, she told the host, “I believe that it was the time that I tell my story and the truth.”
She continued, stating that there was “a lot of misinformation and falsehoods” written about her and that she wanted “to put the record straight” so that “people can learn some things that they were never discussed.” She added that she hopes that people enjoy the book.
During the Fox interview, Mrs. Trump spoke about the assassination attempts against her husband.
“I didn’t really see [it] live, but maybe, you know, three minutes, a few minutes later. But when I saw it, I, you know, it was only… Nobody really knew yet. Because when you see him on the floor, and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”
Mrs. Trump also discusses her childhood in Slovenia, as well as her time spent modeling in Europe in the memoir.
Additionally, the book contains “stories and images never before shared with the public, according to her website. The book will officially release on October 8, less than a month before the presidential election.
