Attorney General Pam Bondi celebrated the success of the Trump administration’s Memphis Safe Task Force in an update on Tuesday.

During a press conference, via ABC24 Memphis, Bondi declared, “Every American deserves to be safe to go to the grocery store, to take their kids to school, to be able to go to church on a Sunday without fear.”

Bondi confirmed that overall crime has dropped 45 percent. She explained that murder rates are down 48 percent, sexual assault has been reduced by 49 percent, and robberies have plummeted 61 percent. She also reported that the Memphis Safe Task Force has made over 3,100 arrests and recovered 121 missing children.

President Donald Trump signed a Memoranda creating the task force, noting, “The city of Memphis, Tennessee, is suffering from tremendous levels of violent crime that have overwhelmed its local government’s ability to respond effectively.”

The Memphis Safe Task Force also partnered with the U.S. Marshals, who confirmed on social media that not only have arrests gone up to make the area safer, but they have also arrested 328 gang members.

During the press conference, Bondi thanked the U.S. Marshals and everyone involved in this operation. She noted that in 2024, “Memphis’s total crime rate was 344 percent higher than the national average. No longer. Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and our dedicated men and women in law enforcement, this surge in Memphis has dramatically dropped crime.”

“Tolerating crime is a choice. This administration chooses law and order and Making America Safe Again,” she concluded.
