After leaving a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in D.C. on Thursday and reviewing the long-awaited FD-1023 form that was provided by the FBI to the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., broke down what was in the document.
As reported by RSBN, after weeks of battling it out with Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the chairman of the Oversight Committee, the FBI finally agreed to hand over the document following Comer’s announcement of his intent to initiate contempt of Congress charges against the bureau.
The FD-1023 is a document that details communications between FBI agents and their sources.
Rep. Greene told the press, “Basically, what was happening there is back in 2015/2016, Burisma was looking to buy a U.S.-based oil and gas company and this came from being advised by Hunter Biden and his partners.
The Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings has become widely recognized by Americans because of their connection to Hunter Biden, who reportedly received more than $50,000 per month for serving on their board between April 2014 and April 2019, according to a report from Fox News.
“Hunter advised that they [Burisma] could raise more money if they bought a U.S. company,” Greene continued, referring to her notes on the FD-1023 form. “So, the informant was trying to do the right thing and trying to advise Burisma that they shouldn’t go this route, they should hire an attorney to work out their problems that they were being investigated for…the informant was advising them, ‘Don’t go this route.’”
In 2020, before the presidential election, the House Judiciary Committee shared an article that spotlighted a “smoking-gun email” that uncovered evidence that then-Vice President Joe Biden used his influence and his office to terminate a Ukrainian prosecutor [Viktor Shokin] who was investigating the Burisma firm’s business activities.
Greene explained, “The owner of Burisma said that Hunter was stupid and that his other business partner was smart. He also said that he paid $5 million to one Biden and he paid $5 million to another Biden. And it was all a bribery to get Shokin fired and end the investigation into Burisma.”
Greene also revealed the following details in her statement to the press:
- The confidential informant asked Burisma’s owner if he was happy that Trump won the presidency, and that he replied that he “was not,”
- Burisma’s owner allegedly said that it would take “ten years for all of us to find out the payments made to the Bidens because of how many bank accounts there was,”
- Despite denying that no payments had been made to the “big guy,” the informant reported that Burisma’s owner claimed he has “two pieces of evidence” showing payments to Hunter and Joe Biden.
“This owner of Burisma kept a record,” Greene said. “Especially of the bribes, and if you’re in an industry where you have to pay bribes to get your business deals done, then you always want to keep a record and keep proof of your bribes because that’s how you make sure you get people to follow through…”
She added, “What I read today is, again, shocking, just as what I read in the Treasury Department with all the SARs report is shocking, but we are going to continue following this investigation.”
She noted that she had “very high expectations” that FBI Director Christopher Wray would continue to cooperate and “do the right thing.”
