In her latest move, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has re-introduced articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Greene has reintroduced her articles of impeachment against Mayorkas due to his poor handling of the southern border, which is currently seeing an influx of migrants crossing the border into the U.S.

According to USA Today, a staggering 2.2 million migrants were apprehended crossing the border just in the month of August this year, which is causing frustrations among Americans living in neighborhoods where the migrants are arriving.

According to ABC News, this influx of migrants has brought along problems with drugs and high crime, which is a threat to the safety of American citizens.

When introducing the articles of impeachment, Greene said, as reported by ABC News, “The Guarantee Clause [of the Constitution] clearly dictates that the federal government has a constitutional duty and obligation to protect each of the states from invasion.”

Under Mayorkas’s time in office, the southern border crisis has worsened, and Greene has called him out on this: “As secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas has violated his oath to uphold this constitutional duty.”

On X, Greene wrote, “Impeachment IS due process. It would put Mayorkas in front of the Senate to face trial. We’ve seen the evidence of him breaking the law. It’s time for the Senate to try him for it.”

The congresswoman explains why she will continue to push for Mayorkas’s impeachment, “impeachment is EXACTLY what the founders intended for the House to do when a member of the executive branch intentionally violates the laws written by the legislative branch.”

The House of Representatives has two legislative days to vote on Greene’s articles.
