Child sex changes have been promoted by the Biden administration under the claim that they are “gender-affirming care,” but little is known about the long-term side effects of chemically and surgically altering children’s gender.
In order to combat this emphasis on sex and sexuality in minors, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., reintroduced her Protect Children’s Innocence Act (PCIA) on Tuesday.
“Something must be done to protect the sacred identity of children,” the congresswoman tweeted. Speaking to Congress, Greene said there are not enough states passing strong legislation to protect kids, which is “why it’s the responsibility of Republicans in Congress” to do so.
According to Greene, the bill would criminalize gender-affirming care on a minor, making it a class C felony for individuals who knowingly administer it. The legislation would prohibit all taxpayer-funded gender-affirming care, stop institutions or higher education from providing instruction on the subject, and deem aliens who perform gender-affirming care on minors as ineligible for visas or entry to the U.S.
MTG also said, “It will protect children from the heinous and evil ideology that is grooming kids and making a profit off of horrific surgeries that mutilate their genitals, give them life-altering medications — like puberty blockers, hormone therapy — that will have permanent damage to their bodies for the rest of their life.”
The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons released a statement in February opposing Biden’s “gender-affirming care” policies.
They stated, “‘Gender affirming care’ in minors is medically and ethically contraindicated because of a lack of informed consent. There are inherently unknown and unknowable long-term risks, and the consequences of removing normal, healthy organs are irreversible.”
In addition, de-transition is a topic that many doctors in the medical industry do not mention when suggesting “gender-affirming care,” and that has left those who trust them struggling when they wish to stop these treatments, according to Web MD.
This has been an important area of interest for MTG, and she originally unveiled her plan to reintroduce the PCIA during CPAC, per RSBN.
She concluded her introduction of the bill by stating, “The groomers and child predators must be stopped, because they’re sexualizing children for profit in a multi-billion-dollar medical industry that looks to grow and grow.”
