Remembering his many accomplishments, Nevada’s Lyon County has renamed its justice complex in honor of President Donald Trump.
Roughly 50 people attended the ceremony of the Donald J. Trump Justice Complex in Yerington earlier this month, Lyon County Manager Jeff Page said.
The justice complex houses the Sheriff’s Office, county jail, Third Judicial District Court, and the Walker River Justice Court.
Initially, the commissioners in July planned to rename a road in Dayton “Pres. Trump Way,” in admiration of the 45th president. However, the idea was later discarded due to the inconvenience of residences and businesses having to change their address. So, in August, the commissioners approved renaming the justice complex on a 3-2 vote.
Lyon County continues to express its admiration for the 45th president after winning the county by 67 percent of the vote during the 2016 presidential election.
Nevada Republicans anticipate more GOP victories in the Silver State during the next few months as multiple Republican candidates attempt to oust Democrat Gov. Steve Sisolak from office.
One of the GOP candidates, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, smashed fundraising records earlier this year, beating out all Democrat and Republican candidates in the state’s history.
Nonetheless, if Trump decides to run for reelection in 2024, something he has continuously teased, its apparent Lyon County voters will rally behind his presidential bid.
