President Trump fired up the Las Vegas rally crowd on Sunday with his first campaign rally since the verdict.
Rachel Puaina, Clark County Trustee District A candidate, spoke about the excitement from the crowd. She explained: “The mood yesterday was cheerful despite the heat. People stayed and took pictures. People were just in a joyous mood.” The crowd celebrated President Trump’s birthday by singing “Happy Birthday” to him.
Local Las Vegas resident and the National Communications Director for Latinos United for Conservatives, Paul Laramie, attended the rally, expressing the sentiment of Trump supporters nationwide. He stated, “we are proud to support a man that will not back down, even after being targeted by a weaponized DOJ.”
Nate DeGrave, a Las Vegas local who was imprisoned as a result of Jan. 6, provided his reaction to President Trump’s rally. He stated: “President Trump’s strategies collectively agree with his vision for America which is the polar opposite of the other side.”
Why does Clark County matter for President Trump to win Nevada?
All eyes are on Las Vegas, Nevada, for the most important election in American history.
Swing states, like Nevada, have a huge impact on determining who wins the White House. The city of Las Vegas is located within Clark County, which will be the biggest factor in winning Nevada, being the most populated and historically Democratic-leaning area in the entire state. Clark County consists of 2.2 million residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Therefore, voter support from independents and Democrats is going to be crucial for President Trump to carry Nevada on Nov. 5, 2024.
President Trump’s appeals to the service industry with his incentive to eliminate taxes on tips
President Trump is well-loved by the city of Las Vegas. He truly understands the hospitality, service, and casino industry as he built the iconic and luxurious gold Trump International Hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip. He recognizes firsthand the power of Democratic unions overseeing the hospitality, service, and casino industry throughout Nevada.
President Trump introduced one of his economic plans to eliminate taxes on tips. President Trump said to the crowd:
“So this is the first time I’ve said this, and for those hotel workers and people that get tips you’re going to be very happy because when I get to office, we are going to not charge taxes on tips people making.”
President Trump’s economic plan to end taxes on tips would provide relief to workers who rely on tips in the hotel, casino, and restaurant industries. Being the top destination as the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas consists of hard-working Americans, who provide exceptional customer service to over 40 million visitors in 2023, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
However, a statement from the Culinary Union Secretary-Treasurer Ted Pappageorge responded to President Trump’s economic policy to eliminate taxes. He explicitly stated, “Nevada workers know the difference between real solutions and campaign promises from a convicted felon.”
This statement completely undermines Las Vegas union workers. The union caters only to endorsing Democrat candidates; they do not represent the American people.
Enough is enough of the economic bloodbath caused by the union’s continuous support of the Biden administration. This is particularly true with Las Vegas being affected by the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic’s statewide shutdown, specifying the financial strain on workers in the tourism, gaming, entertainment, and hospitality industries.
President Trump rallies Nevadans to vote on Primary Day
At the end of his rally, President Trump highlights the importance of voting in local elections on Tuesday, June 11. Las Vegas locals will select their candidates who represent President Trump’s America First policies.
Las Vegas residents can check out their polling location to vote in person.
