A new development in the Georgia case brought against Trump in August has dashed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s hopes that all 19 defendants would be tried together, multiple outlets have reported.

According to ABC, a judge overseeing the 41-count indictment against Trump and 18 co-defendants severed the case from its speedy trial defendants, Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro. This means that President Trump will not be facing trial in October, as he has waived his right to a speedy trial, the outlet reported.

President Trump was arrested and processed in late August at the Fulton County jail in Georgia, igniting a firestorm of conservative support when his mugshot was publicly released. As reported by RSBN, Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges and waived his right to arraignment.

Judge Scott McAfee cited concerns about logistical problems related to attempting to try 19 defendants at one time, stating that there was no courtroom that was even “large enough to hold all 19 defendants,” per ABC.

In 2023, Trump has been indicted in four major cases so far this year, serving only to boost his nationwide presidential polling numbers ahead of next year’s primary election in 2024.

In fact, Polymarket betting odds found in September that Trump was the “heavy favorite” to win the Republican nomination next year, garnering 72 percent favor in their data, compared to Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., who lost 16 points since May and clocked in with 14 percent.

On Truth Social, Trump heralded his historic polling, slamming the media for refusing to cover what he called the “Best Polls Ever.”

He explained, “Best Polls Ever, but rarely shown on television. Leading by 50 and 60 points. Just like they don’t like showing our big Rally CROWDS, they don’t like showing our GREAT POLL NUMBERS. WE HAVE RIGGED ELECTIONS, AND RIGGED TELEVISION!”
