New video footage has emerged, further alleging claims of police aggression towards the Jan. 6 protestors who stormed the U.S. Capitol Building.

The footage, obtained by The Gateway Pundit, reportedly shows Capitol police officers firing at the crowd without warning, reportedly injuring numerous individuals.

The Jan. 6 incident has been the subject of intense scrutiny, with many critics accusing law enforcement officials of allegedly using excessive force against peaceful protesters. This new video reportedly provides further evidence to support those claims.

The police brutality evidence thread “@InvestigateJ6,” tweeted, “Upon arrival, [Officer] Thau frantically requests Capitol Police provide him with ‘blast munitions’ to start throwing at the mostly peaceful crowd.”

Some media outlets have defended the actions of law enforcement officials, arguing that they were simply doing their job to maintain order and protect the Capitol and its occupants.

Fox News, for example, has reported on the bravery and heroism of the Capitol police officers who put themselves in harm’s way to protect lawmakers and staff during the riot. They have also highlighted the violent and destructive behavior of some of the protestors who broke windows, vandalized offices, and allegedly engaged in physical altercations with law enforcement officials.

Despite these differing perspectives, the video evidence of police aggression towards the Jan. 6 protestors is deeply troubling. The footage reportedly shows officers possibly firing at the crowd without warning, which could have caused panic and chaos. It also raises questions about the appropriate use of force in such situations.
