The House Oversight Committee has requested that the U.S. National Archives provide communications and documents related to then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter’s business dealings overseas.

According to the committee, they are asking for unredacted documents and communications that include records of Joe Biden using a pseudonym, instances when “Hunter Biden, Eric Schwerin, or Devon Archer is copied,” and all existing drafts of Biden’s speech to the Ukrainian Rada in 2015, when he was still vice president.

“If there was any overlap between Joe Biden’s official VP duties and his son’s activities in Ukraine, Americans deserve to know,” the committee stated on X.

They also released a copy of their official letter to the Archivist of the United States, Colleen Shogan, in which they formally asked for the retrieval of these documents.

“To further our investigation, the Committee needs to review these documents in their original format,” the letter stated, noting that these documents had been redacted for public reading.

They added, “The Committee’s need for these Vice-Presidential records is specific and well-documented. The Committee seeks to craft legislative solutions aimed at deficiencies it has identified in the current legal framework regarding ethics laws and disclosure of financial interests related to the immediate family members of Vice Presidents and Presidents – deficiencies that may place American national security and interests at risk.”

Last week, Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., stated that he planned on issuing subpoenas, if necessary, to both Joe Biden and Hunter Biden as Republicans continue to investigate the murky business affairs of the former vice president and his family.

Per RSBN, Comer told Fox Business, “We want to talk to about three or four more associates first. We’ve been communicating with a couple of them. We’re trying to bring them in just like we did with Devin Archer for a transcribed interview. If they don’t come in voluntarily, then they’ll be subpoenaed.”
